My toddler will not be deterred by those simple electrical plugs. I think they work fine for younger babies without advanced motor skills, but we’ve had to upgrade to the more complicated plates. I hadn’t realized though that I could get wire gaurds…oops, I think you meant guards! That would be a fantastic addition to our home, because for some reason wires are a toddler magnet! Thanks for the awesome article!

Yes, you are right! It’s very important to make sure that you don’t have anything in your toddler’s room that may harm your child especially falling furniture pieces & reachable electric sockets. Babies are just unpredictable and can get to any place anytime.

@Sleep Center – Thank you for stopping in to our sleepy little village and for your comment. This is SO very true – babies are quite flexible and can get into things you wouldn’t generally expect them to! It’s always a great idea to check and double check your proofing, and, if possible, get another set of eyes on it, just to be safe and sure. Thank you again, and please keep reading!

Make sure to start using caps for your electrical sockets early and often too!

We liked the idea of installing a safeplate for the electric outlets. Babies are very smart, and could outwit adults easily. We would however suggest, that baby proofing be done even before the kids leave their cribs and start to walk around. One can never predict freak accidents. Safety should always be prioritized when babies come into our lives.

@Katherine Zeta, Thank you for commenting! You are right, babies are so smart and you never know what they may do or get into – they sure do get places quickly and sneakily sometimes. Thanks for reading!
