Which 3-Day Potty Training Method are you referring to? I see one by Lora Jensen and one by Brandi Brucks and Dr. Fredric Daum on Amazon. I am very interested in this.

My son is 2 years and 2 months and I don’t think we are quite there yet, but I am ready to study up. My Daughter will be born in Sept, and he will be 2 years 5 months. He absolutely SOAKS diapers at night so I have no idea how that is going to work. He did awesome at sleep training and still sleeps AMAZING. I am hoping we have the same success with this!

      Hi Marie,
Thank you so much for your comment! I believe Nicole used the Jensen version of the 3 day training, but many of the methods are very similar. Good luck!

My daughter is 2 and I don’t know if she’ll be potty trained for a while still. She drinks a lot (just like mommy) and every morning her diaper is VERY full, and sometimes she leaks out of it. Heck, I can’t even make it through the night without having to go at least once! 🙂

There are definitely similarities – I have found that most of the time when I am procrastinating about something to do with her, it turns out that she takes to things pretty quickly and the change actually helps her instead of causing her trouble.

Just purchased the three day method and will start in two weeks. My son is still young (18 months), but I am going to try as I will be unemployed for two weeks only and won’t have that strectch of time to potty train. I hope it works out.

Hoping this comes easier then sleep training as it wasn’t til 13 months that my son was consistently sleeping through the night.

Great article, much is true in it, I think! Our daughter is potty trained at 23 months. Not the “I can go in, pull down my pants, sit, go, wipe and wash my hands by myself” sort of trained, but the “I’ll tell you when I have to go” type of trained. We haven’t used diapers during the day for over 2 months & just switched at night about a week ago. We switched @ night b/c mommy was finally ready – even though she’s been consistently dry in the morning for months and months. For whatever reason, the sleep training was much harder for us, but the potty we’ve got a handle on. 🙂
I see how they’re similar in that there’s a certain amount of faith & trust, recognizing when your child is ready, choosing the method that works best for both you & your child, then taking a deep breath and doing it!

My son is 18 months. We are expecting our second child in March, right when he turns two. That age has many transitions such like big boy bed and potty training, not to add the new brother or sister. So I decided that we would start potty training early to get at least one thing out of the way before the Big March. We will also follow the same “three day” method (not just now, but in a few months). The method makes sense to me. So I purchased his potty to first teach him how to sit on it and make him comfortable with it before he learns what it’s really for. So far he claps and cheers to himself when he sits on it. I call that “step one.. success”. Next, we’ll take it up to the bathroom next to the big potty so he sees the similarities. We also always tell him when he just pee peed or poop pooed. I agree that time, patience, LOVE and consistency will help them succeed.
Tip: I LOVE the Elmo potty DVD. The song is sooo cute I want to memorize it and sign it to him before and after he goes.
