    hi Nicole

just to be clear on your statement “Your third and final option, just like in the Fall, is to split the difference and wake your child just half an hour early and move his schedule slower over the course of 2-3 days.” –

does this mean i would wake my baby up a half hour starting tomorrow until Saturday and shift everything by a half hour and then the following days (Friday – Saturday) by another half hour?

for example, if baby usually wakes at 6:30am: on Thursday, i would wake at 6am and shift entire schedule including naps/feeds up by a half hour, then on Friday i would wake at 5:30am, then on Saturday I would wake at 5am and then on Sunday, resume normal schedule? (ie. let sleep until 6:30am and resume normal scheduled naps/feeds)?

my baby currently wakes between 6-6:30am . she’s in the process of transitioning to 2 naps and it’s been just over a week and i don’t want to mess up the schedule i’m trying to establish and trying to prep for DST.

    thanks
    kathy

Thanks for the info, Nicole! My baby goes to bed at 6:30, and we’ve been wanting to have her stay up later so we have more time with her after work. I guess I’ll do nothing, and voila, she’ll stay up later!

So with the schedule change, can you tell me if this sounds like a good schedule for my 7-month-old? (Is there too much wake time between naps or too much time between lunch and dinner?)

    6:30-wake/bottle
    8:30-breakfast
    9:30-nap
    10:30-bottle
    11:30-lunch
    12:30-nap
    2:30-bottle
    3:30-nap
    5:30-dinner
    6:30-bottle
    7-7:30-bed

@Lainie That schedule looks really good as long as she is napping an hour or more for the 1st two naps. Sometimes 3 hours for the first waking of the day is too long for some babies at this age, but there really isn’t any right or wrong, only right and wrong for your baby, since all babies are different. As long as you don’t have any sleep problems then it’s a good schedule. Good luck!
