Hi. My toddler is a lightsleeper. Inhv a newborn as well whose cries make the elder one wake up. Can i use white noise for my toddler so that he cannot hear the cries of lil one as they both sleep with me n wake up at same time…

      Hi Amber,
Thank you for visiting The Baby Sleep Site! I’m sorry you’re having trouble with the two children sleeping so close to each other. White noise can definitely be a great fit to help one baby sleep through the other waking. We also have an article all about room sharing for siblings that may have other tips you can use in your situation: https://www.babysleepsite.com/siblings/sibling-room-sharing-tips/
I hope this helps – good luck with everything!

My son will be starting daycare in a couple of months. He is definitely a sensitive sleeper, so I am nervous for napping. He sleeps well at home with white noise, however is very sensitive to changes in his sleep environment. At the daycare they play soft music while they nap. Is there a way to adjust him to sleeping to music instead of the white noise? Any other suggestions for this transition would be appreciated too!
    Thanks.

Hi @Jess, thanks for writing! I can understand how nervous you must be. A good friend of mine worked in a preschool for years and she gave me a lot of faith in the system – they really do know how to love on your kids and help them through naps. 🙂 Here is a link with some tips for helping your baby through this: https://www.babysleepsite.com/sleep-training/how-daycare-impacts-your-babys-sleep-schedule-and-habits/
I hope this helps and the transition goes well for him (and you!!) as he adjusts!

Great article! I love white noise for my baby, it really helps both of us sleep.

I use a free app for iPhone called baby Mozart. It has different white noises, and I can put it on listen mode so it only plays when baby cries. I like that it’s not on all the time. My baby loves the hairdryer and vacuum sounds.

That app sounds awesome, @Chan! Thanks for sharing, I will have to check this out for my kids as well. 🙂
