Hi, I’ve read through countless posts at this point and can’t find anything to shed light on our particular situation.

My 12-month-old son used to be a great sleeper – 12 to 13 hours per night. We’ve weathered all of the other sleep regressions. Now, he is waking up at least once per night, and we can’t get him to sleep without feeding him a bottle. I’ve tried letting him cry and going in every ten minutes, but he just gets even angrier. Rubbing his back etc makes everything worse.

My husband and I are at odds about whether we should let him cry and whether we keep feeding him. I have tried not feeding him and doing the checks, but he continues to cry (an hour plus).

I am sure he is overtired, but his daycare drops the morning nap in the one-year-old room, and there’s nothing I can do about this. Should we move his bedtime earlier? Right now, he goes to bed around 6:30 and gets up for the day between 6:00 and 7:00. Wake time varies depending on when he woke up in the night and had a bottle.

@Jillian – Thank you for reading and for sharing with us. We feel your pain completely – dropping a nap can be fairly traumatic and have lingering side effects for quite a while. Without more information regarding your little guy’s sleep and daily schedule and personality, we wouldn’t be able to give you a detailed response here on the blog, unfortunately. This night waking could be due to a variety of reasons, which would require a different approach. Please consider connecting with one of our sleep consultants -https://www.babysleepsite.com/about – so she can get you guys on track to better sleep. Hang in there, Jillian!
